My name is Jillian and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at age eight. I am now 12. It has been a very difficult journey for me. In March 2010, I had 23 cm of small intestine removed. I now have the disease in my esophagus and stomach. I try not to let my disease stop me from doing things. My biggest wish in life is to find a cure for Crohn's and colitis. Last year I raised $1,500 – I have set an even higher goal amount to raise this year. Please walk in the Gutsy Walk on Sunday, June 10th, 2012. Thank you for helping me find the cure!

My name is April and I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when I was 30. I began a regime of medication to help my symptoms. Now my colitis is considered under control with ongoing medication. It is only with the help of Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada and their continuous research that I am able to live such a full and productive life; for that I am truly grateful. I work part time as a massage therapist, as well as teach math and pharmacology to LPN students. I also train and run in half and full marathons. I am active, healthy and happy with my life and will continue to advocate for finding a cure.

2012 Honourary Chair

Hi! My name is Kade, I am 5 years old. I have had ulcerative colitis since I was just 2 ½. When I feel good, I love to go skiing, camping, and skating with my family – I am really fast now! Colitis sucks because I have to go to the bathroom A LOT, it's painful and it makes me stay home from school. I had to stay in the hospital for 5 months when I was diagnosed. I didn't get to see my brother and friends. I take medication every day and I often have to go get "pokes". People always tell me that I am a trooper but I am just trying to do the things my brother does. I have great friends and family who help us raise lots of money for CCFC. With your help, we will find a cure soon.

2012 Honourary Chair Ajel Dale, Age 7 with his dad, Tim.

I would like you to know that my dad has Crohn's disease. It also hurts and makes me upset when he is sick. I also feel very sad when this happens because my dad is really nice to me. So we all need to run and pledge. I was a Top Pledge Earner last year and I am doing the Gutsy Walk again this year, not just for my dad but for everyone who has Crohn's or colitis so we can find a cure.
