Team Sinai
Toronto Chapter
Team Sinai was conceived in 2002 as a small family team who were part of the Mount Sinai Hospital’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Support Network. By 2011, the team evolved to include 29 participants and raised $60,000 in 2011!

The team participants include patients, hospital staff (Registered Nurses and administration) and support group members.
Team Sinai relies on many ways to reach people such as:
- ePledge: setting up online pledges and sharing them with friends and family
- In-person: donations from patients who come in for support
- Announcement: at the bi-monthly support group meetings
- Email: sending email invitations, reminders and thank you notes to friends and family
- Social Media: utilizing social media tools like Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo Groups to reach participants

Team Sinai relies on each member's personal network, including personal and professional connections family, friends, neighbours, coworkers and physicians. As well, they ask individuals who they have sponsored in other charities

- Keeping their team motivated through ongoing communications and updates;
- Sending thank you notes to participants, donors and team members;
- Keeping in touch with participants and donors;
- Asking the dedicated individuals to get involved first.
